What does an AI token package include?
A token package provides an allowance measured in tokens. Tokens are units a model uses to process content; they are not the same as words, messages, or API requests. A short question and a long document can use very different amounts.
When comparing packages, look at more than the headline number. Check which models are included, how usage is deducted, whether input and output have different treatment, and when the allowance expires. The current product listing explains the terms of the package you buy.

Estimate usage before choosing a package
Measure a sample of real requests with the model you plan to use. Include the context sent to the model as well as the generated response, then check how that usage maps to your plan's deductions.
- Sample typical tasks. Test short, average, and long requests from your actual workflow.
- Measure the complete exchange. Longer instructions, documents, and conversation histories can increase usage.
- Estimate volume. Multiply average usage by the number of requests you expect to run during your planning period.
- Leave room for variation. Account for longer answers, retries, testing, and changes in traffic.
A simple planning example
If a complete request uses 2,000 tokens and you run 10,000 similar requests, the raw total is 20 million tokens. This is an illustration, not a promise about package deductions: model weighting or other plan rules may change the allowance consumed.
Avoid converting an allowance into a fixed number of words or chats. The outcome depends on the model, language, content, and length of each exchange.
